Deja Voodoo Spells is not a curse

When my colleague told me that Deja Voodoo Spells was coming to KK to perform, I was thrilled. I asked her when is it and she told me November 14th. I check my calendar to mark it. Oh wait a minute. It’s on Friday. I go cycling Friday night. I think to myself, it’s not like they are here everyday, plus I could always cycle every other night. So I set a date that I would go and watch them.

So last night I went there, Blue Note at Shangrila Tanjung Aru Resort. I arrive late, because I stop by at Tanjung Aru 1st Beach to have my dinner. I’m hungry okay and I don’t want to miss dinner. I’m in battle to gain weight. The show was supposed to be at 8:00pm but I arrived there at about 8:45pm.

Now, this is a rock band, but I didn’t see any drums or bass guitar or amps or anything that have “this is a rock band” stuff. All I see was a bunch of, I dunno, DJ stuff. Something is wrong here. I called my sister to check back with the band’s Myscape. I even used my phone to surf and check it again. I’ve already check it earlier in the afternoon, and I need to check it again. Am I not at the right place? I waited until 10pm, while surfing my Facebook, chatting with my friend on my Yahoo Messenger. I thought to myself, I should have gone cycling. I texted Harol, asking him what’t their route tonight. I might not be able to cycle but I can be their support vehicle. Plus, I could take a photo tihihihi. Harol replied me, they are heading to 1Borneo. What???!!!

So I drove off fast toward 1Borneo, hoping to see them on the road. Somewhere along Jalan Tanjung Lipat, I saw a few blinkers. Yup, that’s them alright, rush over to the side of them, lowered down my windows and yelled, “leks ba kamurang, ada support vehicle sini”. Harol who was there just laugh. I drove passed them and stopped way down the road, get off from my car and climb back the back of the Hilux I’m driving and try to take a picture. Umm.. It was blurry because they were fast! So I drove off again, following them and stop over at Petrol Station near Innoprise building, because that’s where we normally stopped to rest. They told me that they have cycled from Lintas to Donggongon, and then they went on to Maktab Sabah Tunnel heading Sutera Harbour, turned to Jesselton Point heading 1Borneo, pit stop at Petrol Station. Their odometer was at 30KM. What? You’re supposed to be back at starting point by now.

They continued on, reached 1Borneo and turn back heading Lintas, while I followed them, switching on my hazard light. We reached Lintas, the starting point at about Midnight. Damn, must be really great to cycle for 50KM, but thank goodness I didn’t follow them. But I don’t mind to try it, if they going to do it next time. But for now, I’ll show you what ever I’ve been capturing last night.

They have renovated this place and I think it looked nice. The last time I was in here was in 2005.

Can you believe this? I got my camera a year ago and I still don’t know how to get a good picture.

This is why we stopped at the pertol station. Chick dig us cyclist.

Seems like they are over the speed limit.

Another pit stop before heading home base.

I deliberately block one lane so that they can cycle safely.
