I know what I did end of last February

24802_335800353565_542118565_3589643_7554764_n.jpgSo there was a small gathering of bloggers over at Lembah Impian last week which I attended. I missed the food though because I was at my family’s Kenduri earlier on, so you can say I was already full reaching there. And it so happen a few of the bloggers are also; to me at least, a GOOD photographer. These lovely photo you see here are not mine, I kidnap borrow it; with their permission of course, as you can see, it’s a fun fill evening. You can read more about it here, here, here, here, here, here and also here. Did I left anyone out?

And the next day, my annual event since 2006; yes it has been that long, partake in the annual KK City Tourism Treasure Hunt. This year my team couldn’t make it because there were a lot of team interested to join despite the joining fees has gone up, so this year I have to “hitch-hike” on other team, which so happen in need of team members. We finished 19th out of 30 this year.

Syncronizing phone number, so they would veer me off any HAWT hunter they find and get me focused on finding the answer.

As usual, flagging of at Nexus Karambunai to do the first leg of the hunt, involving finding answers at Gaya Street and Waterfront, doing physical challenge at DBKK main office and Tanjung Lipat, collecting passport stamp located all over KK. So you can imagine that we have to split the team into two, it’s virtually impossible to do this together. Time management is the key for this leg. So there I was with Ainee walking back and forth trying to find the answer. The question sector at Waterfront was very cryptic that we have to summon the art of MAIN TEMBAK! We manage to find all the answer at Gaya Street though, despite of the crowd and them “tung tung cha”. It was bloody hot and noisy!

One of the challenge was to take a photo with that Teddy Bear.

After finishing that, off to physical challenge number 1, lifting soya bean using chopstick. Simple enough I think, manage to do it easily on trial run. But it’s pretty hard if you have to pick up as many as you can in 60 seconds. For the first 30 seconds, I could pick it up easily, but when the clerk said “30 seconds left!”, my coolness had gone down the drain thus making my hand shaking uncontrollably, and you can imagine what happen when he said 10 seconds left. I manage to pick up 11 beans. The person who could pick up 24 beans must be a Kung Fu Master or an extremely bored house wife who had a lot of practice before this!

Off balance kite in the making!

Challenge number 2 involve making a Wau. Naturally I’m doing it because I used to make and play kites before; Wau or kite who cares as long it can fly. Oh it flew all right but have the tendency to go to the right, yes my kite is off-balance. What do you expect with a short timeframe and I’m out of practice, about 20 years or so out of practice. At least it can fly aite! I salute to the teams who did it creatively, and to one team who manage to have their Wau soar the sky. I think they were Celcom’s team.

What do you call a Japanese double agent?

Now off to Leg 2 of the hunt, a lot of question and answer, driving from KK to Petagas, turning to Matahari Furniture heading Monsopiad Cultural Village where we did another two physical challenge, head out to Jalan Pintas passing Grand Millenium Plaza, then head to Lintas Plaza, after that passing City Mall, Iramanis Centre, heading to Wisma Merdeka to buy treasure, we know the next question sector was near Alam Mesra/1Borneo so we took a little detour, then head back to Nexus Karambunai. We did badly on the third and fourth physical challenge. I’m not good at blow dart and my other team member are not good at walking on coconut shell. Wrong strategy there but it was fun though.

I think the person who took this for us was envy of my team.
