Moving into another district, again

Last year I was working in Sandakan monitoring a project. After working for about 5 month, I’m back in KK; working for a government agency, but still flying to Sandakan every 2 weeks or so for meetings. Last week though, I was asked to work in another district, well actually the whole department was asked to move to another district. Sound stressful no?

New building!

So by next year, we will be occupying a new building somewhere in Kimanis, not so far from Sabah Oil and Gas Terminal (SOGT); it’s just 45 minutes to 1 hour drive from my home, 50 minutes flying to Sandakan but who’s counting. Yes we have a new building and I will be among those who are going to occupy it.

Regular site meeting with contractor and consultants

Not being discourage by the move, because I look at it this way. First of all, I’ll be getting my very own room. Currently I’m sharing a room, one of the reason we’re moving, our organization is getting bigger and we don’t have enough space. Secondly, less traffic jam. While everyone is heading to KK, I’m heading toward the opposite way. And lastly, good reason to go home early, if I have meeting in the afternoon; meetings normally held in KK.

My room
No furniture yet.
What I'll be looking at next year.

I surveyed other mean of going to Kimanis, using the train. Unfortunately, the current train service only caters to the need to transport passengers if time is not of their concern. But I’m keeping my hope that someday, maybe someday, our train service would be more like the one in Peninsular Malaysia, or maybe in par to the ones on developed country. I’m also wish we could also have our own transit rail system, maybe in 10 years time?

I need to check my Enrich point. Till then, anyone going to #TwtUpKK?
