My Unit Trust Investment as of 17th April 2020

So what happened last week?

The Ministry of International Trade and Industry had issued a list of business that can resume business to kick start the economy. It’s a good move rather than having everything to start simultaneously. Imagine the congestion that it will cause. It already causing massive traffic jammed on Monday, the week after the announcement was made. Though I found out later that it was caused by roadblocks because people will take advantage of this to get out of their house.

Some of the businesses that were allowed to operate were barbershop, saloon and glasses store. Now naturally, everybody took the chance to go out. Who doesn’t? I saw a lot of folks started complaining about their hairs getting longer. Even Vin Diesel went out to get a haircut!

It was later cancelled as it was not an essential service. Between you and me, I think they should have left the glasses shop to remain open.

Saw a few photo showing market open around KK early last week. It was packed with people. Seriously? The government partially allowed a few businesses to resume activity and people started to come out. That prompt the State Government to immediately have it shut down. Can’t blame them entirely. I think most of them thought of getting to buy stuff early before everybody else. Turned out everyone was thinking the same thing. So jammed ensued.

There’s also a video of a town north of KK where it seems like it was business as usual. That went viral on Whatsapp. Think a lot of you have seen that video. Not to mention more crowd at Lido Market. I think it opened as early as 4 am, but most of them I think came at 6 am, which explain the surge of people.

On the local and global stock market. I see some upward movement. Hence why my investment went up. I am happy. We see how it goes next week.
