This is my weekly post about my personal investment in Unit Trust, diversifying my retirement fund. My intention is to educate anyone who is reading this to diversify and regularly rebalance their retirement fund. Different people have different risk tolerance. Please explore your risk tolerance before you start to invest. Take what you learn in this post with a pinch of salt.

My investment portfolio value is currently at 21.98% as compared to 21.78% last week. If I did not do portfolio rebalancing, my investment portfolio value would be at 35.18%.

My local & regional fund value went down while my bond fund value went up last week. The FBM KLCI index closed at 1,652 points, 33 points down from the previous week, led by profit-taking on index stocks. Regional markets generally traded higher amid China’s positive industrial production data and a firmer U.S. market.

I will monitor my unit trust investment weekly until my next scheduled portfolio rebalancing. It is hard to predict the market movement, that is why you need to keep your emotion out of investing and rebalance your portfolio regularly. Seems like by doing nothing you could gain more. But for me, I have secured my profit to a less volatile fund, namely bond fund. I will, however, rebalance my portfolio next year, following my schedule, and might put some of my holdings into equity. There are rumours going around that the US stock market going to crash in 2021. You can find and read about that speculation on the internet.

I have made an adjustment on my graph for investment without asset allocation, starting from 1st November 2020. I forgot to include fund distribution for those affected funds.

How is your investment doing?
